looting

On one hand the conquest, the war, the policy scorched earth, the exploitation of the soil, the humiliated. On the other, the conqueror, the one who commands, the man from the old world, the one who raises his hand and keeps the gold.

In Guatemala a dentist drills my molars and places 8 inlays of national gold of the highest purity.

In Berlin, a German doctor removes all the gold fillings from my molars. These little sculptures – a total of 8 – are left on show as art objects.
